Where have all the creatures gone....

"PLANT IT AND THEY WILL COME."
OH HAPPY DAY! WE HAD 16 MONARCH CATERPILLARS ON OUR PLANTS THIS MORNING - SEPTEMBER 2, 2018, BARBOURSVILLE, VA.

It is important to leave the plant until they are gone. They will eat it all the way to the ground including the stem.

"Yet we are losing what few wild places we have left;
those patches where the spirits of the earth are flowing freely,
where harmony and balance still exist,
and we feel accepted for the truth of who we are.
We have strayed off course and need to find our way again...
Nature is willing us on.

This has become one of my favorite books. Down to earth gardening for the creatures.

Every time you spray pesticides, every time you add plants to your yard that are grown with pesicides in them, every plant you buy that resists fungi, rust, and unnaturally blooms all year, is a strike against our creatures of the earth.

Invite them - they will come!

Moths are amazing. The Luna moth and American Moon Moth are beautiful. The Emperor and Imperial moths are sometimes as big as baby bats. Below are a few of our garden friends.

Put the phone down; walk outside; immerse yourself in nature.
